5 things not to miss at Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto

Outings / torontomls / Mar 29, 2019

When visiting Toronto, hockey fans should definitely visit the famous Hockey Hall of Fame, a museum dedicated to Canada’s national sport. It is recommended you spend a few hours there, as there is so much to see and do, but if you are in a hurry, here are the five things not to miss on a speedy visit.

The New 9&99 Exhibition

Honouring hockey legends Gordie Howe and Wayne Gretzky, this temporary exhibition features never seen before artifacts lent by the families exclusively to the Hockey Hall of Fame. Jerseys, pucks, pictures: relive the incredible bond that linked two of the best players of all time. You have until March 2020 to visit.

TSN’s Sports Centre

Ever dreamed of being a sports journalist? Take a seat in the Sports Centre studio where you will have to comment live a segment of a hockey game. Once finished, you can send yourself the clip.

The masks exhibit

The goalie’s mask has changed a lot over the years and you will be able to truly see the evolution by looking at the impressive Hockey Hall of Fame’s collection which exhibits more than 90 masks, like the one of Jacques Plante, Ken Dryden and even Manon Rhéaume.

The Stanley Cup and the championship rings

This is an opportunity not to be missed: take a picture with the real Stanley Cup. In fact, there are two Stanley Cups in circulation, and this is one of them. You can also see the very first Stanley Cup awarded. It looks very different from the one we see today.

In the same room as the cups and other trophies, you can see the championship rings awarded to players after they win the Stanley Cup. There are more than 20, including the last one, won by the Washington Capitals in 2018.

The Montreal Canadiens locker room

The very famous Montreal Canadien’s locker room was completely recreated as an incredible photo op for fans. Visitors can sit on their idol’s bench, try on their equipment, take a picture next to their jersey and see their old, used skates.

The Hockey Hall of Fame is a short walk away from the Le Germain Hotel Maple Leaf Square. You can maximize your visit with our Hockey Hall of Fame Package.
