Formula 1 Grand Prix du Canada 2015: Our Survival Guide

Starting today, F1 fever sweeps the island of Montreal. The city’s streets are a sight to behold, teeming with glamorous people and the world’s most beautiful cars. Formula 1’s Grand Prix weekend is such a spectacle that it can be hard for visitors to fully appreciate its significance. Here are a few tips and tricks to get the most out of your experience.

1) Get Around by Public Transport

This advice may seem counterintuitive during an event where cars are in the spotlight, but believe us when we tell you the Metro will be your best friend this weekend. It will help you dodge hours of traffic and allow you quickly move from one activity to the next. Give yourself about 35 minutes to get to the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve from Le Germain Hotel Montreal.

2) Talk to Your Concierge

André, our fantastic concierge, is a gold mine of useful information, well-kept secrets and privileged contacts at the best spots in the city. Don’t hesitate to ask him for advice on the phone (514-849-2050), in person or by email (concierge.mtl@germainmontreal.com) so you don’t miss any of this weekend’s celebrations.

3) Be Prepared!

We can’t say this one enough: it’s vital to be well prepared for before spending all day at the racetrack. Be sure to pack sunscreen, earplugs and a bottle of water. You’ll be able to find all of these items at the hotel, during your stay.

We wish you a great weekend. Have fun!
